Chromostructure, 2016/2023, is Carlos Cruz-Diez's first monumental artwork in China. Created and donated in 2016, the work reveals to passers-by the interactions between colors and the spatial environment, as they admire the city skyline. As part of the artist's centenary celebrations, the work was integrated into the balustrade of the Rainbow Bridge, on the banks of the Huangpu River. Chromostructure is destined to become a new landmark for the city of Shanghai.
In parallel, the exhibition RGB, The colors of the century will be presented at the Rainbow Space in Shanghai from November 20, 2023 to March 3, 2024.
