Featuring some forty works, most of which have recently been added to the Centre Pompidou collection, the "Cruz-Diez. La couleur en mouvement" is part retrospective, part experimental space.
A major player in op art, Carlos Cruz Diez (Caracas, 1923 - Neuilly-sur-Seine, 2019) would have been one hundred years old in 2023. After arriving from Venezuela, he settled permanently in Paris in 1960. He took part in the major exhibitions that marked the history of the optical and kinetic movement. His work is entirely devoted to highlighting color as a phenomenon that is both ephemeral and autonomous. It is divided into major series, each dealing with a specific aspect of the life of color. Most of these are represented in the Centre Pompidou Málaga exhibition.
