CARLOS CRUZ-DIEZ - JOSEF ALBERS MUSEUM QUADRAT BOTTROP

06.04 - 31.08.2025

In the spring and summer of 2025, the Josef Albers Museum brings color into the exhibition space. With Color Everywhere, the museum will present from April 6, 2025, in its extension building, four artistic positions that explore color, material, and space in different ways. Through the works of four artists – Polly Apfelbaum (*1955), Karla Black (*1972), Carlos Cruz-Diez (1923–2019), and Christof John (*1984) – color will become a spatial and even physical experience. Movement and color perception are essential elements in the works of Cruz-Diez, while John confuses the eye with geometric compositions of color and form. At the same time, color appears in various forms, such as in the pastel-colored sculptures by Black or the colorful floor pieces by Apfelbaum.
