DESIGN MIAMI. PARIS 2025

21 - 26 October 2025
Overview

For its renewed participation at Design Miami/ Paris, Mitterrand presents a selection of works by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne, alongside Julie Hamisky.

At the entrance of the fair, as part of the Design at Large section, François-Xavier Lalanne’s Lapin à vent (Wind Rabbit), conceived in 1969 for the Schlumberger collection, embodies his unique fusion of art and function. The gallery presents a bronze edition, with other examples shown at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Château de Versailles.

The presentation also features key works such as the Petit Rhinocéros Mécanique (1982) and two Tortues Topiaires (2000–2003), reflecting Lalanne’s dialogue between sculpture and nature.

Claude Lalanne is represented with her rare Ginkgo Coffee Table and an exceptional pair of Crocodile Armchairs (2015), highlighting her mastery of electroplating and her poetic transformation of natural forms.

Julie Hamisky, their granddaughter, continues this legacy by capturing botanical fragility in metal through both sculpture and jewelry.
