Familiar with the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire, where they have already exhibited in 2010 and 2018, and whose park is the permanent home of one of their emblematic works, La Capella, Anne and Patrick Poirier have conceived a new exhibition in which nature and memory take center stage.
Since their joint beginnings in 1968 at the Villa Medici in Rome, nature, its beauty and its vulnerability to devastating human practices have given rise to recurring series of works. These take many forms: notebooks conceived in the manner of botanists, such as those that accompany their monumental Ostia Antica model from 1972, and warn of the effects of pollution; photographs in which the plant is king, such as the suite Le jardin noir (1977), Hommage à Blaschka (2011-2012) and Archives (2011-2018).
Opening on March 29, 2024
