RAPHAËL ZARKA - CHAPELLE DES JÉSUITES, SAINT-OMER

22.06 > 08.09.2024

In the summer of 2024, the Olympic Games will be held in France. For the Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays de Saint-Omer, this major sporting event is an opportunity to discover the links between art and sport, through an exhibition entitled DU JEU DANS LES FORMES.

Partnerships with museums such as the BPS22 in Charleroi, the Frac Bourgogne and the Frac Grand-Large - Hauts-de-France mean that visitors to this summer exhibition can discover some of the great names in contemporary art, including Lilian BOURGEAT, Mounir FATMI, Jan KOPP and Raphaël ZARKA. The childlike, playful dimension of play is not forgotten, with works by Mitsuru SENDA. DU JEU DANS LES FORMES also highlights the collection of photographic archives on sport undertaken by the Bibliothèque d'Agglomération du Pays de Saint-Omer in 2023. These images add a historical dimension to the exhibition, visually demonstrating the evolution of sporting concepts from the 19th century to the present day.
