New space opening : 28 avenue Matignon: Claude & François-Xavier Lalanne

Mitterrand is pleased to announce the opening of a second space at 28 avenue Matignon, marking a new chapter in the gallery’s development and further strengthening its presence at the heart of the Matignon–Saint-Honoré district.

Originally designed by Pierre Yovanovitch, the new space will open to the public on September 10, 2026.

This opening follows the inauguration, in October 2024, of the gallery at 95 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, located just a few steps away and designed by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois of Desselle Partners. With these two locations, Mitterrand aims to further consolidate its long-term presence in Paris’s 8th arrondissement.

This new location allows us to engage more directly with both Parisian and international collectors and to benefit from the appeal of avenue Matignon, which has become one of the epicenters of the European art market. It also provides us with a more flexible space, conducive to experimentation and a diversity of projects, in dialogue with the gallery on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Since 1988, the gallery has continuously sought out new opportunities, and we are delighted to embark on this new chapter and the perspectives it opens up for the future.”

Conceived as a hybrid venue, the space will host a flexible program, ranging from standalone presentations to projects developed on an occasional basis in dialogue with exhibitions at the Faubourg Saint-Honoré gallery.
